Dolce far niente

A sua música faz-me bem.
Yesterday’s concert was exceptional. Undoubtedly, she grew up a little, and as a result, her musicality is more mature. The sounds are jazzier, and if there were any doubts, she really became a true seven instruments woman: I already knew her talent with the guitar, the ukulele, the harp, the xylophone and the cello; yesterday she surprised with a banjo and played also piano for the first time to an audience. (As she said, if it went wrong, we would be the only ones in the world to have heard her on that instrument. It went well.) This was the first concert of her new tour, and the public was still shy. In the end I had another opportunity to exchange a few words with her. I promised to gather up with her again next time she comes to the northern center. Her music lifts me up.

The day started early today and with a walk with the oldest.

Reparem:
Meanwhile the sun has already risen, and I want to hurry to go do the always necessary photosynthesis. I have with me everything I need to enjoy this fine sunny Sunday. Notice it:

There's a flower in my blog

Para mim ela é a maior promessa actual da música portuguesa, e conquistou-me aos primeiros acordes de The Cherry On My Cake. Infelizmente ainda não pude entrosar-me e familiarizar-me com o novíssimo There’s a flower in my bedroom.

To me she’s the greatest promise of current Portuguese music, and she won me over with the first chords of The Cherry On My Cake. If we were still in the days of vinyl, I'm sure I’d have scratched the disk considering the times I’ve listen to it. Unfortunately, I couldn’t yet fit in and familiarize myself with the brand new There's A Flower In My Bedroom. But as I cannot deny myself one of her concerts whenever she travels to a zipcode near mine, tonight I’m going to another session of musical intimacy with Luisa Sobral. For now I'll enjoy the sun by the sound of:

Se podemos fazer algo tão "dançavelmente" bom a partir de uma única frase («One day baby, we'll be old / Oh baby, we'll be old /And think of all the stories that we could have told»), não posso evitar perguntar: quão difícil será responder ao seu pedido?

J. has been asking me for the past weeks to write some lyrics for him to set to music, together with the other apples of his eyes (no, I’m not that permissive; I’m talking about the Fenders®). In spite of not being a beginner in these wanderings, the truth is that my poetic inspiration has only been leading me to dark paths. However, when listening to this recent musical hit, I understand that the talent is never centered in what we write, but in the way it’s set to music, and in the voice of who sings. If we can actually do something so danceable and good starting only from one sentence («One day baby, we'll be old / Oh baby, we'll be old /And think of all the stories that we could have told»), I can’t help but wonder: how difficult can it be to answer positively to his request?
