| If there were still doubts...

I am a confessed admirer of few things, but as I say, «if it is to enjoy it, I enjoy it seriously». This has applicability in lots of subjects in my life, but today I wanted to tell you about something very particular.

If my friends C. and M. wrote on this blog, they would tell you of the long hours they would wait for me on Tuesday evenings of a few years ago. If my friend J. came here, he would tell you how he cut my face from a photograph, and glued it to the TV screen on one of those Tuesdays, so just I could flesh out the main character of the series I watched copiously.

The series was on on one of our private channels on Tuesdays around 11p.m.. Nor the best party, neither the best bar in town, convinced me to leave home earlier. Everyone knew that R. would just show up around 11.45p.m., and within time, no one would wonder about a delay, that was no longer a holdup, when everyone assumed and understood that that was my bit: I sat on the old couch in my exiguous apartment in the busiest avenue in that city, rolled over myself, waiting to listen to the first chords of the generic song.

Then I’d fix my eyes on the screen -- nothing would move them from those inches -- and I would laugh, dream, think, reflect, love, covet and sometimes weep. I do not know if my life became one long episode of the series by coincidence, or if by the exalted comparison, I tried to take it to the simile.

I consumed devoutly all 94 episodes from the 6 seasons, as they were on TV. But I soon brought it home, and collected the legacy that entertained me for so long. Maybe you’ll think I’m exaggerating when I say that there are dialogues that I know by heart, there are scenes that I could masterly represent and that my bachelorette party was under the motto of the series. Those who know me well know that I vibrate with the concept.

And it is with equal glee that I (re)watch the humor and the fabulosity on the most glamorous streets of NYC, currently on scene -- by dinner hour – on one of these paid channels of series and popcorn. Physically I may even be in my kitchen, behind the pots, disheveled and wrapped in apron; however, during those two half-hours, I'm with Bradshaw and her friends, at the most fashionable streets of Manhattan, sipping a Cosmopolitan.

Because life is not always an attractive and sophisticated way, and at the end, every girl wants to find her own Mr. Big.

Dolce far niente

A sua música faz-me bem.
Yesterday’s concert was exceptional. Undoubtedly, she grew up a little, and as a result, her musicality is more mature. The sounds are jazzier, and if there were any doubts, she really became a true seven instruments woman: I already knew her talent with the guitar, the ukulele, the harp, the xylophone and the cello; yesterday she surprised with a banjo and played also piano for the first time to an audience. (As she said, if it went wrong, we would be the only ones in the world to have heard her on that instrument. It went well.) This was the first concert of her new tour, and the public was still shy. In the end I had another opportunity to exchange a few words with her. I promised to gather up with her again next time she comes to the northern center. Her music lifts me up.

The day started early today and with a walk with the oldest.

Reparem:
Meanwhile the sun has already risen, and I want to hurry to go do the always necessary photosynthesis. I have with me everything I need to enjoy this fine sunny Sunday. Notice it:
